Purchased this back in August, and finally got the gym complete to be able to use it. We purchased this specific model because of the compact design. It was nice because there was nothing to assemble - just pull it out of the box and open it up. However, there is really no resistance from the water. The container takes about 4 gallons to reach the max fill line. Once there - you cannot adjust the resistance, and there is barely any resistance from the water. I've used other water rowers in the past and with the other rowers, you could adjust the resistance by changing the water volume in the tank. Not the case with this one.. I've given the KingSmith WR1 Foldable Water Rowing Machine three stars - I deduced two because resistance here is key, and you cannot adjust the resistance on this rower. Very disappointed.

I'm happy with my rower. Pretty easy to set up and I love that it easily folds and stores at a much smaller size. I haven't downloaded or used the app. The display is ok but improvements would be great. I don't need to see my calories. I would like to set it to only view strokes per minute instead of constantly cycling through data. My largest complaint is the resistance. It's great for a beginner but if you are more advanced it can be frustrating to not have a harder rowing workout.

Things that I like about the Kingsmith Rower 1. Compact when not in use. 2. Extremely quick and easy to unfold and get rowing. 3. Super smooth. 4. Resistance is similar to top rowers like the Concept 2 rower. 5. Great fit and well built overall. Well above it's price point. Things I don't like about this Kingsmith Rower. 1. The display is subpar offering very limited information. Distance, time, kph, calories and a few other irrelevant data points. 2. No Watts. Although it would have been easy to put a display that you could program based on the amount of water you put in the reservoir and instead of giving you speed in kph, show you watts instead. i.e. if the reservoir is filled up to line 6, and the pedal is spinning so fast, you're producing this much watts. 3. The rower only pairs with the KS app and nothing else. This means no ability to use other online programs or even pair it with your Garmin watch or an iPad etc. Summary If you want a smooth well built rower that's not gonna let you down under some hard efforts, but also folds up quickly and to a pretty small size, this is the rower for you. On the other hand, if you want to get online, or want even a little more than the most basic display, you'll have to look somewhere else. Hoping Kingsmith will sell an aftermarket display that offers a more robust experience that can also be paired to online platforms other than the KS app. That would make this rower the go to for anyone with limited space.

Very much loving this rowing machine a few weeks in! Super quiet (I have neighbors in my building in every direction) and provides an awesome workout. Only downside is the lack of availability for an app in the US, but I've been able to sort that out otherwise. Highly recommend!
